Catching Up!

Well, the porch sale has come and gone.  The weather outside was frightful but we were warm and cozy on the porch.

There were lots of displays set up on the porch, just waiting on lovely ladies to come and enjoy.
Speaking of lovely ladies, here are a few lining up to get onto the back porch.  Normally I have "stuff" all around the front and side porches too but because of the threatening weather, we decided to not put everything out and just use the back porch.
Peek-a-boo!!  Guess who?
Welcome everyone!  It was at this point I stopped taking pictures.  All of a sudden I looked up and the porch was full and someone needed help and things got hectic..............and then we were done!

I had eight new recipe cards at the sale for those gals that collect the cards.  Let me know if you want me to hold any for you.  I think I still have some of each one left.

Thank you to everyone who came out and supported my little back porch adventure!!  I do have some things available if  you're interested in anything you see in the photos.  Some things are all gone, but some things are still here!!  And for the next week I will be leaving the items on the porch so if you want to stop by, give me a call.

Happy stitching.  I'm getting back to "normal" after the sale and trying to get some things stitched, put away, cleaned up, organized, finished.............................never a dull moment!

Porch Sale Time!!!

Well, it's hard to believe but tomorrow is the Porch Sale.  I am excited and soooooooo tired!!!  I hope you'll all be able to come by and hopefully leave with something fun.

We are having the sale, rain or shine, but have decided to add Sunday afternoon as an alternative date.  So Saturday, 10am-3pm and Sunday 1pm-5pm.

A couple of "tease" pictures from the porch.  Lots of fun, hand made items for you to see!
Love these little books.  Great Christmas decoration.

I also got into the dye kitchen and did a little dying this morning!  Bright and early at 6:30am!!

This is the Tamarack building in Beckley, WV.  My sister and I took a visit there on Monday when I drove to pick her up.  Needed to stretch my legs before we got in the car again.  Beautiful facility and grounds.
I love this bush.  I want to find some for my yard.  I think it's called a Burning Bush.  No idea if we can grow them in our warmer climate but I'll be checking them out.  Beautiful color.
This studly fella was outside the building, in all his bronze glory.
This sign tells about Mr. Studly!!
We were amazed when we walked in the building and saw crocheted "scarves" hanging around the entire building in support of breast cancer awareness.  We just couldn't get over how many scarves there were honoring people who had breast cancer.  What a statement!

This tired old gal still  has a few chores to do, so I'll say so long for now and hope to see your smiling faces over the weekend.

Enjoy our wonderful cool temperatures!!

Porch SaleTime!!

Aren't we just having the best fall ever!!!!  It makes me so happy to breathe the fresh, cooler air, even though we're in the 70's, it's still just wonderful.  I do wish our leaves would change a little more, but it's still so beautiful out.

With that being said, the 3rd annual Porch Sale is just around the corner.  It's sneaking up on me quicker than I'd like to think.  I hope you'll be able to stop by for a visit and maybe go home with a treasure or two.

There are going to be things made by me, signs painted by my sister, wooden risers and possibly some hand made lamps by John, and some handmade bags, totes, fabric and other goodies from Stacey and Elizabeth is bringing lots of vintage linens, hand made jewelry and other surprises.  So hopefully there will be something for everyone!

Here are a couple "tease" photos that Evette said I should post.  She is just a big old tease herself!!!  She got a sneak peek at a few things today and made me feel so good about what I was working on.  She just knows how to boost a girls ego!!! Thanks "E"!

I think I'm getting in the mood for Christmas after working on a few of the projects.  And it's just around the corner so never too soon!

I sent out an email this evening also letting everyone know that I need to cancel the two Busy Bee classes this week.  Thanks for understanding.

With that said, it's time for my sore fingers to get back to stitching.  I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend and come see me next Saturday for a fun day.

Fall is in the Air!!!

Finally, summer is over and there's a nip of fall in the air.  Well, we're not nippy weather-wise yet, but it has been in the 70's and lower 80's which is a nice change.  Fall is my most favorite time of the year!  I love the pumpkins, acorns, squirrels gathering acorns, the colors, the mums, the decorations, the changing leaves, everything about fall!!!

I visited a local farmer's market yesterday to pick out a few more pumpkins for the porch.  They had some pretty huge pumpkins on display.  Believe me, they were much larger in person than they look in these photos.

And of course, some smaller pumpkins too.  These are called "field trip" pumpkins.  Just right for little hands to carry home.
Love all the different gourds.  The colors are just magical to me.
And from pumpkins we go to snowmen.  Couldn't resist a quick photo of these two snow friends.  They're on the back of my husband's truck drying in the sun.  Enjoying the glorious fall day!!  They will be making an appearance at my Porch Sale which is November 1.  By then the air might be more suitable to their liking.

Heard a wonderful sermon in church this morning about not wasting your life.  So don't waste your life, go out and enjoy the fresh air and do something fun.  Or, like me, build a few snowmen!!

Happy fall!

How does your garden grow?

.......with pretty bells and cockle shells and maidens all in a row?  Well, my friend Pat has a green thumb which is obvious from the pictures I took recently while on a visit.  Her garden is beautiful and every place you look there are beautiful flowers and lots of fun garden accessories.  Enjoy the eye candy!!!

Now, doesn't that make you want to go out and plant a few flowers or do a little gardening?  I just watered my flowers in the back yard!  Does that count?  Thanks for sharing your space with me Pat!!

Now, find a little stitching time today and try and stay cool!  98 here in Raleigh today!

Sunday Selvedges

What can I say, I'm hooked on selvedges.  Have been for a long time.  I've saved them for awhile but just didn't know what I wanted to do with them.  Well, now I know......a selvedge quilt!  I have been putting together 8 1/2" blocks whenever I have a few minutes and now my pile is starting to grow.  I love seeing how different each block turns out and reading the words on the selvedges.  LOVE them!

You can go from this.....................

to this..............................

to this........the finished square.  Aren't they grand!!!

Are you ready to start your own selvedge project?  If not, I'll be happy to take your selvedges off your hands!!!  Just sayin'..................................
