Lucky Me!

I am so lucky to have so many wonderful ladies come to my home for classes and sometimes show and tell.  I especially love the show and tell part......that means they've completed something wonderful and we all get to oooh and aaah over it!
Liza has been working on my Calendar Girls pattern for some time.  Once she got all the blocks stitched, her quilting bee each took a block and created a pieced block to include in a quilt.  It was magnificent to say the least.  Each block so different and spectacular all together.
I especially loved the appliqued strawberries although it was  hard to choose just one favorite!!
Lou finished piecing together her queen sized log cabin quilt.  It is just beautiful and a gift for someone very special!!!  Wish it were me........just sayin'.......those are my colors after all!!

Another group of sweet ladies working on log cabin blocks.
Debby and my hubby sharing Debby's block.  Debby took on a king size quilt I believe.  Can't wait to see that one!!
My son the Easter bunny!!!  We had a special promotion at church and the pastor told me if I could find a bunny suit big enough to fit 6'5" tall Paul he would pay for it.  I did and he did!!
Tallest Easter bunny ever!  But an adorable one!!
A future class project ladies.  Loved putting this one together.  Thanks to sweet Evette for gifting me with enough fabric to create the front and back of this quilt.  Love when it all comes in one package, even the book to choose a pattern from.  Merry Christmas to me!!  Now to get it quilted.
Another log cabin quilt finished.  I believe Pat is hiding behind this one.
This quilt turned out so beautiful.  Donna did this one, also for a gift.  The picture almost looks black and white.
A small mat for an April class.  Love doing projects like this, beginning to end in just a few hours.

I was on my way to church a couple of weeks ago and met this house coming down the road.  A policeman actually had everyone pulled off the road so the house could pass.  Just not something you see every day.  Wonder where they took it?

I've been super busy with a project we have going on at church but that event happened over the weekend so now I am playing catch up in lots of areas.  I hope to find more stitching time in the coming days.  I have a couple of things in the works for May classes if I can just get them put together!!

I hope you find a little time to do some stitching.  Enjoy the sunshine!

More Log Cabins

Happy almost Spring.  In the upper 70's here today but gone tomorrow and back to the 30's.  What weird weather we're having!

Another log cabin class today.  The ladies worked hard, persevered and came up with some beautiful fabric combinations.  Each one was different and unique.  I took pictures of one of their finished blocks, but believe me, they have many more completed!  We had two lap size quilts today, one double and one king.  Way to go!!!!

These two are in the witness protection program!  But their blocks are still great.
I think I have two more classes to work on log cabin quilts.  I love seeing how they all turn out and all the wonderful fabrics that are put together for great color combinations.
This weekend I have the first Blooms and Bees class.  I did finish my mat as you can see from the photo above.  You have to see it in person....much prettier.  The classes I have remaining are full so I have decided to offer this project again in April for those of you that might have missed it or couldn't get into the existing classes.
I added a couple of bees and.......
even a dragonfly.  I loved this project and can't wait to share it with you.

I hope you all enjoy the rest of your week and be safe in the world with all the crazy weather.  And definitely find a little stitching time!

Busy, Busy, Busy

Are any of you snowed in and having a grand old time stitching?  I am!!  We're not technically snowed in but we got a mixture of snow/sleet/ice I suppose.  Enough for me to not have a good reason to leave the house.

I realized I hadn't shared pictures of some classes and decided to do that first.  We had another birthday class and of course I had to embarrass everyone by making them wear the dreaded birthday hat!

I think I missed someone but that's ok.  I'll figure it out and catch them when they least expect it!!  I know who it is and I know I took a picture so I'll have to go searching!
We had a baby shower for Heather who is expecting her first baby in March....a sweet little boy.  Can't wait to met Mateo!
Joshua wanted to get in on the birthday fun too.  He put the hat on so I had to snap a quick pic!  Sweet little boy!  Can you believe how much he's grown?!
Time for the first Log Cabin quilt class.  The ladies showed up ready to work!

And ta-da......their blocks are done.  A couple had a few blocks to finish but most finished them in class.  I tried to get a picture of one of their completed blocks to show how different they all were.

I can't wait to see them all sewn together and turned into beautiful quilts.  And speaking of quilts......

I worked on my applique quilt yesterday since we were having a "snow" day.  I got the top half of the blocks put together.  I'm loving this project.

Aren't the mice so sweet?

And off and on for the past couple of days I have worked on my selvedge blocks.  I have oodles of selvedges that need to be sewn down.  I think I got fourteen blocks done between yesterday and today.  These need to be trimmed up.  They look so great once they're trimmed.

Don't you just love how creative we can be with bits and pieces of fabric?  I have had a passion for fabric since I was a teenager.  My Mom and I used to go fabric shopping together and we would just fondle the fabrics and dream of what we could make.  I guess that's something I inherited from Mom and will always love.

I hope you're all getting to do something fun today.  Perfect weather for a little stitching!

Fun Class

How is everyone doing?  It's been a busy week around here, some classes and some babysitting and some sewing.  All fun stuff!!

I took pictures during the jelly roll class the other day and realized, after downloading the pictures, that would was going to be the "Pat" blog.  So without further adieu........................

Pat is getting her machine set up and fabrics arranged and beginning her stitching.  She had a little difficulty in the beginning with the machine, but I think she's ready to go now.
Lynn finished her jelly roll top and moved onto another project...... I didn't get a picture of Lynn's quilt with the camera!!  It was beautiful and done with lots of Christmas fabrics.
and Lou moved right along with her quilt top.......almost there!
Pat is trimming her very long "tail" of fabric.
Lynn finishing up her second project of the day.
And very, very proud of the water she is drinking now!!!  Lots of it please!!!
And Pat is pressing her very long never ending "tail" of fabric.......
Ta-da.....Lou finished up her top.  Beautiful!!!!
Had to move Pat to my machine which seemed to work better for her.
Still sewing...........................
Sewing some more......threading bobbins.........sewing some more.......
YAY!!!!  Done.......last stitches taken.  Finally!!!!!
Another ta-da!!!  Turned out beautiful.  Pat used up lots of Christmas fabrics she had on hand.  I know, even though it took her awhile, that she is going to love this new quilt.  Way to go Pat!!
Time for another birthday party class tomorrow.  The bags are all packed and ready to play!!

Hope you all have a super great weekend.  Find a little time to stitch..................
